BIO
Allison Iris is an African artist and song stylist whose mission is to raise awareness about the issues plaguing her community and help bring about change through her music. Growing up in South Africa she saw a country riddled with gang violence, femicide and corruption. In 2019 femicide statistics in South Africa reached an all time high, with the country being declared the most dangerous place for women in the world. This changed the course of Allison’s career as a musician. She knew it was her duty, as many of her ancestors before, to use her voice to protest against the injustices her people are facing. People need to hear the truth to start healing and implementing plans to create a better South Africa. Through her music she aims to provide healing and spark a new era of change.
"Voices ought not to be measured by how pretty they are. Instead they matter only if they convince you that they are telling the truth."
- Sam Cooke
